Lucky Dog Animal Rescue

Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals, primarily dogs from high-kill shelters and owners who can no longer care for them. By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, local veterinarians, trainers, and boarding facilities, we are able to rescue hundreds of animals every year, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. We also serve as a resource to our community and all pet owners by providing education and information on responsible pet ownership, including the importance of spay/neuter, positive behavior training, and good nutrition.

Meet Jemma

JEMMA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Name:  Jemma        Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd/Retriever Mix      Best Guess for Age:  5 months as of 10/10        SEX:  Female   Estimated Weight (puppies' weights change quickly!):  25 lbs as of 10/10   Gets Along With:  Most puppies are in the prime of their socialization window and will do well with other dogs, cats and kids so long as they receive patience and proper training. Additionally, Jemma was tested with some cats at the shelter and she didn't seem particularly interested in them. While this is a good sign Jemma could live with a cat, as far as we know, she has not lived with one. We are happy to discuss ways to integrate Jemma into your pack!   Currently Living at:  DC area forever home   Special Adoption Considerations:   Puppies under 6 months of age need to have multiple potty breaks/exercise throughout the day. Potential adopters with a standard 8-hour workday must be willing to make arrangements to meet the needs of their puppy.  Jemma is Looking For: Hi! I'm Jemma! You may have noticed that I'm super cute. I'm also told that I'm a really good age because I'm past all the crazy baby pup stuff, but I'm still adaptable and impressionable. I really like walks, so I'd like a home who will take me on lots of them. I also love to play with other pups, so I'd like opportunities to romp around. What I want most of all is my very own human to snuggle with at the end of the day. What do you say? Am I the pup for you? What My Foster Says About Me: Coming soon! Your new puppy will need to work on their house training and will also need to go to obedience school so they can grow into a well-socialized dog!  TO ADOPT:   The adoption fee for this dog is $425, which includes the cost of routine vetting and transport from the shelter. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
