Husky Education And Rescue Team, Inc.

We are a 501(c) (3) nonprofit - pending animal rescue organization. Our organization saves, rehabilitates, and rehomes Siberian Huskies (and other breeds of dogs) who are abandoned and are in kill shelters. We provide medical and behavioral services and rehome them to compatible families. We do this through volunteer efforts. Most of the dogs in need will come from the Southern States where the shelter kill rate is higher. We have a network of foster homes along the East Coast, while our adoption locations can be found in Maryland and New Jersey.

Meet Echo

Followers, meet Echo! Back in August Echo was found tied to a tree by a lake in the woods in New Jersey. He was taken to animal control where he's remained until Dec 8th when he joined the H-E-A-R-T program. Sadly, the shelter is overcrowded and having to make tough decisions about euthanasia. So we rescued Echo and brought him to our rescue center in MD. Echo is believed to be 3 years old. Although he looks and acts much younger, his teeth do show some age. He is current on his vaccines and heartworm negative . He's incredibly sweet and lovable and soaks up all the attention. He LOVES the other dogs and will need a home with other playful canine friends. His favorite game is the game of chase where he will bounce from the sofa to across the room and back again daring another dog to catch him. He's too funny!   Echo is extremely food motivated which helps with training. He's strong on a leash and we recommend a no pull harness for him. He does not like to be left alone and we do crate him when no one is home. He enjoys chewing on benebones and getting his zoomies out. He's moderate energy level and once he's played he'll snuggle up and relax. He's affectionate with humans and canines alike.   He may be part Pomsky but without a DNA test it's hard to know for sure. He has the tight curled tail and the ear shape that make it suspect. But he is 48lbs. Echo has no handling issues but may try to swipe food from small children so we'd recommend older children only. We do not know if Echo is small animal friendly.
