Meet Alexis Peach *LOCAL*

I will be at the Always Adopt event on June 5, 2016, at Balise Toyota in Warwick, RI - unless I am adopted sooner. If you want to adopt me, don't wait - fill out an application now and you could take me home sooner! ;@ Age: 2 Years Weight: 49.2 lbs Location: RI    This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Make your life sweeter by adding Alexis Peach to your life. A little over a year and a half ago Alexis and her four siblings were left on the porch of a shelter, and now Alexis and her sister Kate are the only ones who have not been adopted. We believe they are Hound mix and around 2 years old. Alexis is somewhat submissive and gets along with all dogs. Alexis would do best where there is another mellow dog at home. During pack walks she is much more content walking next to another dog, and is always looking for direction of the others. She startles easy, but this should go away once she is comfortable with her new people and new surroundings. She is a little cautious and shy when meeting new people, but she warms up within a few minutes. She is a sweet girl, and is good with everyone including children, but because of her shyness, she would do best in a home with quiet, older children. She has been cat tested and showed no aggression - she would be fine, especially with reinforcement from her humans and ample integration time. She is quiet with a low to moderate energy level. She will chase after toys but she's not good with bringing them back yet. Alexis LOVES back scratches and will make a great companion to chill out with. She is on the thin side and could stand to gain a few extra pounds, but she is still a pretty girl. Although not required, Alexis would love to have a fenced-in yard, but the fence must be high enough so she can't climb out. We recommend Alexis attend basic obedience lessons, as it could help her shyness and will help her learn manners, commands and it's also a great bonding experience. She is currently working on "sit" and she is leash trained, however she is not crate trained and we do not know if she is house trained. Alexis is smart and obedient, she should catch on in no time. If you would like to make Alexis part of your family, please fill out an application. You are going to love her!   Adoption Fee: $370  To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:     www.sosarl.org/aa/   **Additional info you should know -  For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label.   Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption.  There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
