Meet Buddy! A lively almost two-year-old American Pitbull Terrier from Daly City, CA, whose playful spirit is as bold and beautiful as his dark brown brindle coat. This affectionate and energetic pup has been through a big change—his beloved pet parent passed away, and now he’s looking for a new, loving home where he can continue to grow, play, and snuggle his way into someone’s heart. Buddy is a social butterfly when it comes to other dogs and would love a canine sibling or regular playdates to keep him entertained. His favorite pastimes include romping around with his dog friends, chasing after his favorite ball, and carrying his beloved stuffed toys everywhere like little treasures! He’s also a smart boy who has mastered commands like sit, down, heel, and come—his dedication to learning makes him a fantastic companion for someone who enjoys training and positive reinforcement. He spends his weekdays sharpening his skills at training, and since he’s crate-trained, he’s comfortable being left alone for short periods. Though Buddy is a sweetheart with those he trusts, he does take time to warm up to new people. In the past, he has been a bit nippy, so he’ll thrive with a patient and understanding caregiver who can continue helping him build confidence and feel secure in new situations. Because of this, a dog-savvy home—preferably with experience with pit bulls—would be the best match for him. While he’s a superstar with other dogs, cats are not his favorite roommates, so a feline-free home would be ideal. One of Buddy’s most endearing qualities is just how much he loves affection. He’s a champion snuggler who leans into kisses and cuddles, and if given the chance, he’ll happily curl up right next to you at night!
