Meet Wonka

As the saying goes, life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get. That may be true in the world of cinema, but it is the exact opposite with this sweet and oh such a treat litter of labrador retriever mixes. They are more irresistible than the chocolate makers they are named after. Each pup will be the center of love as they will pour their hearts and souls into their forever families. At four months old, these cuties are ready to embark on a journey that leads them to each of their forever homes. Our Wonka weighs in at around 35 pounds. He has a great start at making his estimated full-grown weight of a large size dog which is anywhere over 60 pounds. He is a chocolate treasure with lots of love, affection and companionship to give.Full of puppy energy and an adventurous nature, Wonka is looking forward to making his mark on the world. He is a rambunctious playmate with lots of charm. He enjoys the company of other dogs, children and adults. Since coming into rescue, Wonka has not been introduced to cats. Romping around with friends and exploring the world around him is his way of having a great time. He possesses a zest for life that is the epitome of puppyhood. Wonka looks forward to filling his days with lots of carefree play, exploration and adventure. When the day winds down and the play ceases, Wonka will gladly cuddle up with his people for a well-deserved rest.Training goes a long way in having the ideal canine companion. Wonka knows that his destiny is to learn his skill set of house, crate and leash training. With his family taking the reins and providing consistent and positive training, Wonka will quickly learn the skills needed. As with all puppies, Wonka is full of curiosity and wonderment and is ready to grow from adorable puppy to amazing dog with the right guidance and patience. He will need a home with someone who has the time, desire and energy to train and socialize him so that he can become the perfect lifelong companion. Wonka is looking forward to the future and all the excitement and love in store for him. He will provide endless hours of love and entertainment as his family grows fonder of him each day. Wonka is a boy that will be sure to melt your heart.* Please keep in mind when considering adoption, dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust significantly better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Wonka is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.
