Meet Kader

Kader is a tiny dog with a big personality. He likes being near his foster family but doesn't like it when the humans try to play with him. He prefers having his own space and observing everyone do their own thing. He loves sleeping with his foster mom and get get a little needy and territorial. For this reason, he would do well in a home with ONLY adults or with children age 15 and above who respect Kader's space and who can establish firm boundaries (example: as not letting Kader sleep on the bed or spend all his time on one person). He will be friendly with any person as long as he is not being cuddled by his favorite person (currently, his foster mom). Kader likes playing with other dogs but can get a bit dominant with large males (will growl a little to tell the large males to stay away but doesn't nip). He would prefer sharing a home with female dogs. We are unsure of how Kader behaves with cats because there are no cats in his curerent foster home but he chases squirrels in the backyard. Even when he enjoys socializing with female dogs or male dogs that are his size, his number one preferred activity is to be carried in his favorite human's arms. Kader's rescue story is sad: He was found unconscious (with a embedded harness) by his foster's mom son in a parking lot. The finder brought Kader to the emergency room where he stayed overnight. If it hadn't been for the finder's kindness, Kader wouldn't be alive anymore.Kader is up to date on vaccinations and is neutered. (puppies under the age of 6 months may not be sterilized prior to adoption, if this is the case your adoption coordinator will discuss the process with you).To adopt or learn more about: you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, visit our website: WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM ** PLEASE READ: If a dog/puppy is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. In some cases this dog may be pending an adoption already, and their profile has not been updated yet. Please note, SPR does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated otherwise. All breeds listed are educated best estimates by transferring shelter staff, our volunteers or our vets. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort.If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation. To learn more about our rescue, adoption fees, and procedures, review the list of FAQ’s on our website at WWW.SANDYPAWSRESCUE.COM**The FIRST step in adopting an animal from our rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.Sandy Paws Rescue’s MA license number # 0272
