To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application    HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see    HERE Age: ~1 yr (as of 2/27/23) Weight: 13.6 lbs (as of 2/27/23) Location: RI    This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet Laiken! Laiken is a chocolate and white Rat Terrier mix looking for a lap she can climb into again and again! She loves being a couch potato and has some playful moments too. With other dogs, she likes to run around and play, but isn’t always interested in toys. She loves going places, especially on walks and to playgroups, and is calm when crated for car rides. Speaking of the crate, she enjoys coming and going from her crate when she pleases and has been able to be left alone for about 8 hours but sometimes likes to chew on her dog bed. Laiken tends to be quiet and enjoys her independence when she’s not showing her affection. She does well interacting and cohabitating with women and other dogs. She also interacts and is playful with other adults and children but has not yet cohabitated with them or cats/smaller animals. Laiken is still working on her house training and is crate and leash trained. With her intelligence, resilience and eagerness to please, her potential new family should be willing and interested to participate in obedience and/or other training classes. This will not only provide an opportunity to build confidence and create a strong bond but will also provide mental stimulation to foster her intelligence. Laikin's story:  She was found as a stray posted on Lost and Found and no one claimed her. The finder simply couldn't keep a dog but didn't want to leave her without doing nothing and reached to a rescue to take over. Laiken has proven to be a wonderful happy sweet Terrier An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see    HERE    for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:  www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
