Meet Lucky Duck *LOCAL*

To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application  HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see  HERE Age: about three months (as of 1/13/24) Weight: about 15.8 pounds (as of 1/12/24) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Hey, want to get Lucky? Here’s your chance! Lucky Duck is an adorable Heeler mix who was lucky when she chose the house to spend the night. A kind woman opened the door at bedtime and found this little bundle curled up in front of the door. She took her in and posted on social media. When no one claimed her, she asked our southern partner Wiley’s Road Home, to take her into rescue. Lucky does well with the dogs she lives with and the new ones she meets. She’s playful and respects corrections. She also likes to play with cats and small animals. She lives with teenaged kids, and male and female adults and is playful and responsive to corrections with new folks she meets. (Are you sensing a pattern here?) She rarely barks and likes checking out new places. She also does well loose in the car, so getting there is a cinch! House training is in progress, and she’s quiet and clean in her crate. While Lucky is practically perfect in every way, she does like to chew and jump up on furniture and people. For these and many other reasons, we recommend training, which will improve her bond with you and make her an even better housemate. Since we are unsure of her background, socialization with other dogs is also a good idea. We are sure Lucky is going to be a great dog for almost any family, so why not make it your New Year’s resolution to adopt her? An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see  HERE  for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
