To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see HER E Age: 5 Months (as of 1/11/23) Weight: 35 lbs (as of 12/26/23) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Meet the Despicable Me litter! Looking for a loyal, playful, and eager to please addition to your family--the minion to your Gru? Look no further! Gru is a fun, playful pup! We think he is a Boxer/terrier mix. Gru has a beautiful golden tricolor coat (golden/black/white). The last (but not least) of the Despicable Me litter! Gru loves playtime and toys (chew, squeak, you name it) is also happy to chill and bask in some lap time after his exercise needs are met. He loves the company of other dogs and would do great in a home with another playful dog. He has a true zest for life and loves everyone he meets! As a typical puppy he likes to play, chase, and wrestle, but he can be quite mouthy, because of this and his exuberance we do not recommend him for a home with small children. Gru is mostly housetrained and uses the crate when left alone. He sleeps quietly in the crate at night. We strongly recommend that all of our puppies attend obedience training to learn commands, develop confidence, and socialize with other dogs. Think Gru could be your missing piece? Fill out an application today and let him know that you'd love to have him join your family! Medical Note: This dog is being treated/has been treated for demodectic mange, a non-contagious skin condition. The dog has responded well to this treatment and is ready for adoption, though may still have some bald patches and/or thin fur in places. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months after adoption for adults or until 18 months of age for puppies. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange, and talk with your Adoption Counselor about this condition. Please check with your vet if you have any questions or concerns about this medical history. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see HERE **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
