Meet Nellie

Meet Nellie! A lovable and adventurous four-year-old Labrador Retriever mix from Seneca, SC, with a beautiful blend of Border Collie and Australian Shepherd. Her chocolate brown coat, highlighted with charming white accents, gives her an air of elegance, while her striking blue and brown eyes tell a story of intelligence, curiosity, and warmth. Nellie is the kind of dog who will be your loyal companion, always ready for belly rubs and a good snuggle! Nellie has a zest for life and a heart full of love to share with the right family. She’s happiest when she’s outdoors, especially if there’s a river to swim in or a stick to chase. She excels at fetch, though bringing it back is sometimes up for negotiation! Car rides are her favorite, and she’ll happily join you for a long hike, provided she's your only canine companion for the adventure. This sweet girl has been trained in obedience and knows a wide range of commands like sit, heel, stay, and even leave it, though sometimes she’s a bit inconsistent. With her love of learning, Nellie enjoys training sessions and would thrive with a caregiver who’s patient and understanding of her unique quirks.  Nellie has been a nervous dog her whole life, and while she has gotten into scuffles with other dogs in the past, none were serious until a recent, tragic incident with a small dog. She has lived with other dogs before, but due to her anxiety, she would do best in a calm home where her needs are understood. With people, Nellie has always been gentle. She may bark or take some time to warm up, but with patience and kindness, she becomes a loving and affectionate companion. She needs a family who can offer her the safety and reassurance she needs. Despite her anxiety, Nellie has a special place in her heart for a few select dog friends and familiar faces. Once she bonds with someone, her affection knows no bounds! She’s crate-trained, house-trained, and even enjoys a quiet break with a lickmat or puzzle to keep her busy. Nellie will flourish in a home where she’s the only dog, and any other animals should be introduced with care. To make sure that Nellie has a great start with her new family, we have a canine behaviorist available for a free consultation. Does your home have space for this lovable adventurer? Are you ready to give belly rubs on demand and have a constant companion by your side? Nellie is waiting to meet her new family. Contact us at [email protected] today to meet Nellie!
