Meet Vic
So darn cute! Look at those floppy ears and alert brown eyes. Vic is your typical sweet-faced lovable lab mix. This puppy, at just around 5 months old is full of life. He gets along fine with kids and other canines. He has a short black coat with white markings. He currently weighs about 19 pounds and will probably be in the medium range (up to 60 pounds) for size when fully grown. It is not known if he has met a cat. Labs are known for their friendliness towards people. They have more than enough affection to go around for the whole family, too. Labs are intelligent and good-natured. They have plenty of energy as pups and usually like to stay active throughout their lives. As a mix he will probably have a lot of these lab qualities.Little is known about his previous life but now that he is in rescue he knows that he will have a loving and caring family to provide for him. Puppies have lots of potential, and since he is smart and friendly, he can grow to be a wonderful companion in the right home. Vic will thrive with consistency, repetition, and patience, to help him with the skills he needs to master. Cheerful praise and lots of treats will go a long way in helping him master those skills. It will take time and energy, but the result will be worth it. Vic may have had some training, and he is currently working on house, crate, and leash training. He, like most pups, will be a quick learner once routines are established. Daily short walks (under thirty minutes) will be a good opportunity to work on leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to him with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along his walk. Please note: He may not be a running companion until at least age one when his growth plate closes.Vic will also appreciate free time in the back yard or at a local dog park. Keeping his mind active with activities that provide physical and mental stimulation will prevent boredom. Could he be a future frisbee player? Tennis ball chaser? Are you willing to commit to the time and energy needed to raise this adorable pup so that he can reach his full potential of being a loving, devoted companion? If yes, read on.*When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine.
