To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application        HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see        HERE Age: ~ 7 years (as of 9/2/23) Weight: 12 lbs (as of 1/02/24) Location: RI This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped. Libby Schnauz is a quiet sweet Shih Tzu mix who deserves to be cherished forever. She is seven years old, and was recently surrendered by a breeder, along with other small dogs who all have papers and are currently available for adoption.  Libby is the sort of dog who will truly touch your heart because she is so sweet, quiet and shy. She is currently living in a calm and quiet foster home, and making tiny progress every day. She is very shy and can be fearful of most things coming from humans.  She is not loud or reactive, but clearly not comfortable.  We think she would do best in a quiet household that has minimal socialization expectations on her. While she seems interested in being around familiar people, she doesn't seem to enjoy being touched.  She is coexisting easily with other small dogs. She appears to be housetrained and is as quiet as a mouse.  She is quiet and calm in a crate, and walks pretty well on the leash but can been startled or spooked.  She is extremely mild-mannered, and a homebody wallflower.  She needs a home that will accept her for who she is today, and go very slowly with her to build her confidence and trust. Libby enjoys laying in a dog bed in the sunny window and is just starting to show some interest in toys after being in her foster home for a week. An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see      HERE      for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website:    www.sosarl.org/aa/ *  *Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
