Meet Hazel! This 2-year old big-boned beauty came to us from local animal control after being found as a stray and wowza, is she a great dog! Hazel is definitely a full-figured stunner at 76 glorious pounds (of pure love!), but her calm demeanor immediately makes this cuddle queen seem more pint-sized. Hazel is shy at first but warms up quickly and loves to snuggle and be loved on. This acorn beauty enjoys walks and romping around in the backyard but mostly wants to be with her people. She enjoys chewing antlers and benebones, likes to instigate play with other dogs, and has perfected the art of napping. She has impeccable manners, never jumps on people, has never had an accident, and sometimes needs a handwritten calligraphy invitation to come onto the furniture just to make sure she is realllllly invited. Oh, and she is excellent in the car, patiently sitting to look out the window or lying down for some Zzzzz’s. While out and about, Hazelette calmly and appropriately greets everyone she meets (canine and human alike) and will give a quick sniff to dogs she has met in the past as a quick “hello”. Hazel is a gentle giant and is the perfect shade of hazelnut coffee with a splash of cream. She has a super unique toasted chestnut coat (and monochromatic eyes to match) and is quite the stunner with a perfectly soft and squishable face. If we had to describe her in only one word? LOVEABLE! Due to her size and lack of history, older or no kids would be best for this sweet and nutty plus-sized princess. Big is beautiful! Hazel’s top 3 priorities: 1. A family with a quiet home (bonus for a great speaker system playing relaxing music). 2. A family who is home often since she thrives with her people. She likes to move around the house checking out what people are doing. 3. A family who is looking for a human-size snuggler in bed and on the couch for a movie night. She is a great sleeper and just curls up on a spot in the bed and sleeps through the night.
Adoption Process
Adoptions
Crops and Flops Rescue, Inc. prides ourselves on spending extra time with our thorough adoption process to make sure our pups and their forever families are set up for a lifetime of happiness. Being a foster-home based rescue means we understand our dogsâ personalities in a home setting and what type of environment would set them up for success. We go the extra mile with our adoption process to understand our adoptersâ households to make a match made in heaven. While we understand that looks can be important, we focus our efforts on finding a match based on household, lifestyle, and temperament for the best chance of a happily-ever-after. Our dog adoption specialists are invested in our adopters and are volunteering their time to help make a great forever match.
Adoption Process
Our adoption process consists of the following:
⢠Complete an Application
⢠Reference Checks: Both veterinary and personal references are required
⢠Phone Interview: Typically lasts 20-30 minutes with one of our knowledgeable dog adoption specialists for us to understand our adopters household
⢠Home Visit: Our home checks are conducted both virtually and in person, include verification of home ownership, and usually take around 30 minutes to complete
⢠Dog Meet: Adopters will be guided to meeting a dog that would be a good match â all resident family members are required to be present
⢠Next Steps: Subsequent steps are determined at initial dog meet, especially when you have a resident dog
⢠Adoption: We ask our adopters to wait 24-hours before scheduling an adoption to make sure all family members are committed â if all agree, we schedule the adoption as soon as volunteer schedules will allow
