Meet Macaroni
Meet Macaroni! This 2-year old velvety gentleman came to us from local animal control after being tied up and abandoned with another dog on state land with a face full of porcupine quills. Turns out this nervous little noodle was microchipped and was originally adopted from a shelter in Arizona. There, he was picked up as a stray after being hit by a car and sustaining multiple traumatic injuries He was also adopted and returned a month later before being adopted to the woman who would bring him across the country only to abandon him. To say Mac has nine lives and that his journey to forever has been more cumbersome than most is an understatement. But the future starts today and Mac is more than ready to find his happy ending! Mac is creamy, cheesy, and utterly delicious. He has the meatiest paws and most charming nose freckles. And cover girls everywhere would be jealous of his built-in smokey eye makeup. ‘Roni is super polite in the car and settles down wherever you put him. He loves snuggling up on the couch or in the middle of the human beds and hasn’t found a treat he didn’t like. Mac is full of cheesy goodness and gets silly and excitable when he has to go out. He circles a million times before going to the bathroom…like next level donuts in an empty high school parking lot on a snow day. Fair warning: Mac will attempt to telepathically communicate via prolonged eye contact and everyone who meets him falls head over heels in love. Mac is all healed up from his physical injuries. He has some limited mobility due to a healed fracture in his hip, and some nerve damage to a healed tongue injury, which makes him eat and drink sideways (but isn’t that charming?). But despite any past trauma, he is actively seeking connection with his foster family and really wants to be close. He is a loving and attention-seeking dog shrouded with lingering subconscious feelings that humans haven’t been kind to him, so needs a family willing to meet Mac where is, showering him with love. And he is easy to love! Mr. Mac is a moderate energy level dog who is down for a long walk but is just as content to skip it to snuggle on the couch. He is not yet interested in toys but will engage in brief episodes of play bowing before he zoomies away. And will occasionally bark if you aren’t giving him enough attention (or if you dared to eat chicken in front of him without offering to share). Macaroni is a cat- and dog-friendly pup but due to his lack of history, older or no kids would be best. Help yourself to a cup of pure comfort and apply to adopt this resilient piece of rigatoni goodness! Macaroni’s top 3 priorities: 1. A family who has a relatively small and quiet world and will allow Macaroni to gain some much-needed confidence and meet him where he is. 2. A family full of love and affection who is willing to show it. 3. A family who wants a dog with them on the furniture and loves to cuddle.
