Meet BEAR BROOKS

Bear Brooks is a gentle, shy, and incredibly resilient 9-year-old pitbull mix who is ready to find his forever home. Despite having faced a rough past, Bear has a heart full of potential and kindness, though he's still learning how to trust and open up to the world around him. He’s a very special boy, and it’s hard not to fall in love with his quiet yet endearing nature. One of Bear’s unique traits is that he has three legs, but don’t let that fool you – he gets around just fine! His confidence is growing day by day, and with each step, he's proving just how strong and capable he is. Bear enjoys going for walks and soaking up the sun, and he’d love a home where he can continue to explore the outdoors at his own pace.At Macomb County Animal Control, Bear is still adjusting to life in a kennel environment, and while he hasn’t shown much interest in toys or playing yet, we believe that with time and patience, his playful side will emerge. He does well with other dogs but is more of a `keep-to-himself` kind of guy. We’re unsure of how he would interact with cats, but with the right introductions, we believe he could potentially get along with them as well.Bear would thrive best in a quiet, calm household where he can feel safe and secure. He’s looking for a home without young children, where he can take his time settling in and building a trusting bond with his new family. If you’re someone who understands the importance of patience and love, Bear may just be the perfect companion for you.If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is Sponsored
