Meet Axel - Located in New Hampshire
AXEL#MadLoveAxel located in New Hampshire with a fabulous update! This one year old boy is doing awesome settling into his foster homeSome insights from his foster:Axel is doing great. He’s just a giant puppy. Axel met my dad yesterday (6’5 large man) and did great, so far has done great with men and women. I would say he’s slightly reserved but his curiosity quickly takes over and he’s very pleasant when greeting, he’s a leaner once you start petting him I do think he needs someone with some breed experience just because he has the energy and excitedness once he’s comfortable. He is not overly drivey. He doesn’t quite yet understand the concept of working for food/toys for more than a minute or two, he’s easily distracted by everything else. He LOVES to sniff and find things on his own frequently by sniffing (toys/treats) so he may do well at scent work once he learns to stay on task for longer periods of time.He is STRONG and needs leash work. I’ll continue working with him on that between snow storms He does have somewhat of an off switch if you’re relaxing, though he will get up and go find something to do on his own like chew a bone or sniff around to see what he can find and bring it back to be near you.Zero accidents in the house or crate. Sometimes will bark for 1-2 minutes when going back into his crate (and it’s 100% FOMO) but he stops on his own.Overall, we couldn't hope for a better progress report for this boy so far and look forward to finding him an amazing family If he seems like the boy for you, please reach out and apply madrescueinc.orgAll MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and one-year subscription.
