Meet TOPAZ

Hi there, I’m Topaz! I’m a beautiful 2-year-old, 42lb Labrador Retriever with a heart full of love. I was saved from a kill shelter just in the nick of time, and now I’m hanging out in Adrian, MI on the lookout for my forever family! My foster parents say I’m super well-behaved—I’m housebroken, great on a leash, and I try really hard to be the best girl I can be. I’m still getting used to car rides, but I promise I’m working on it!Life hasn’t always been easy for me, but I’m learning what it feels like to be safe and loved, and I can’t wait to find my own people to share that with. I’m good with other animals, but I’m not super interested in playing right away. Mostly, I just like hanging out with my humans, cuddling and making sure they know how much I love them. I’m also really good with elderly folks and special needs people—I love being there to offer comfort and calm. I enjoy going to the senior home for visits - I’m always a big hit!One of my favorite things to do is explore the yard and sniff around for any critters that might be lurking. A fenced yard would be great, but honestly, I’m not one to wander far from my foster mom, so lots of walks would be good enough for me. I like to keep an eye on what’s going on around me, and I might need a little time to feel completely safe, but once I know I’m loved, I promise to give that love back tenfold.I don’t need a crate because I’m such a good girl, and I absolutely love belly rubs and snacks—seriously, who doesn’t?
