Say hello to Athena, a stunning 2-year-old Cane Corso mix with a striking blue coat. Athenaâs journey hasnât been an easy one. She was found as a stray, and it's possible she was hit by a car before she was rescued. Despite the pain and hardship she's endured, Athena has shown incredible strength and resilience. After some time spent healing with lots of cage rest, she's now ready to start fresh and find her forever home.Athena is still a little shy and unsure of the world around her. She doesn't seem to know many commands just yet, and she would benefit greatly from basic training and socialization to help her build confidence and trust. Sheâs a sweet girl, but she needs an adopter who is patient and understanding, as she takes her time to warm up to new experiences and people.Athena will thrive in a quiet household where she can feel safe and secure. Because of her shy nature, we recommend a home with children aged 16 and up, who will be gentle and respectful of her space as she adjusts to her new life. This beautiful girl deserves the chance to blossom into the loving companion she was always meant to be, and with the right owner, we know she will make a loyal and affectionate friend. Athenaâs perfect home is one thatâs calm, patient, and willing to put in the time to help her grow.If you think youâre the right fit to help Athena come out of her shell, weâd love for you to meet her. Give her the love and stability she needs to thrive, and sheâll be a wonderful companion for years to come.Apply today and open your heart to sweet Athena! If you are interested in adopting me or another homeless pet at Macomb County Animal Control, walk-in adoption hours are Monday-Friday from 10am-4pm.My adoption fee is $150.
