(MAD) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization which is dedicated to rescuing Belgian Malinois and Dutch Shepherds who have found themselves without a home (surrendered, discarded, abused, neglected or impounded). MAD does not have a physical location and is operated by compassionate, like-minded professionals who volunteer their time and resources to help save and care for the Malinois and Dutch Shepherds. All animals that are accepted by MAD are spayed or neutered, given medical attention and rehabilitation, as needed, and placed with foster homes until their health and evaluations are completed and they are ready to be placed in their loving permanent homes.

Meet Cooper - located in FL

INTACT maleCooper has had a hard start in life.  Owner's ex was loud, demonstrative and intimidating. As a result Copper is slow to accept new people, especially males. He has allergies.  No official bite hisory, but he has Itchy paws. Owner tried to help heal his feet and he bit the owner a couple times when she was trying to apply medication.  He is good at Grooming, Baths, Taking Medication Putting Collar On Putting Leash On.Needs time to build trust, time, confidence biuding exercises and structured activity to thrive.  Foster needs to be experienced.   Sometimes reactive to children, in that he sometimes barks at passing elementary school children.  Is not keen on others he does not know. Needs proper introduction. He won't go near strangers.  In a vehicle, will cry and pace back and forth the entire ride.Currently lives with a husky and cat in the home. No visible prey drive.  He grew up with and lives with cats and they all like each other, not sure about other cats.  Sometimes reactive to other cats.  Do not recommend kenneling for extended periods but is good in his crate.   High prey drive, Will fetch until the human gets tired. Has 2 specific toys, will go and grab them randomly and want to naw on it while I hold. Will play fetch the entire time we are at the dog park. Does not typically chase other animals, aside from opossums at night.  Crate trained. Trained at home.  He knows commands sit, down, stay, place, Off, drop it, shake.  Muzzle trained.  Cooper does not like other dogs rushing him at dog parks.  Owner had to nudge dogs away from him before Cooper body slammed them.  Gets along with both males females with gradual introductions.  Cooper loves to cuddle.  Will lay on top of you at any given moment.  His ideal home would have a Large yard/land. Someone to give him the time he deserves.  He’s sweet, very loving and loyal, a cuddly dog as well  High drive for fetch. Too smart for his own good, has a drive for food when training.  Loyal and driven, will only leave your side if food is involved. The perfect working breed dog looking for a permanent task.
