Meet BERNIECE

Hi!  I'm Berniece.  I've had a rough couple of years, but I'm ready for my next adventure. My fur was super matted when I came into rescue, so I was groomed with a sassy, short style. It's growing back now and looking beautiful. I'm stunning if I do say so myself.  I'm a little shy, but I warm up to new people quickly. I'm also a bit afraid of bigger dogs until I get to know them. My foster mom is so proud that I'm crate trained and nearly house trained.  I love sleeping behind her on the back of the sofa nested in a blanket, or in a soft, cozy bed on the floor.  I'm getting pretty good on a leash too!  It's so much fun to go for walks and to pet stores for treats--especially the treats!  Oh and I prefer soft treats because I don't have many teeth.   I have a cataract in one eye, but that doesn't stop me from getting around and exploring the back yard.   My foster mom thinks I'm around 7 to 8 years old but I'm not telling.  If you are looking for a snuggler and lap dog, I'm your girl.      

Adoption Process
Application, personal reference check, veterinarian reference check and home visit. All dogs are spayed or neutered before placing for adoption. Adoption fees vary by age. $150 to $300. Applicants must sign an adoption contract.
