Friends of Michigan Animal's Rescue

FMAR is a no-kill animal shelter. Our property includes three buildings. Once we take in an animal, it has a home with us for it's lifetime if necessary. The animals at FMAR are mostly strays brought to us by the police or surrenders whose owners cannot care for them. FMAR has a small staff and a large number of volunteers that have a deep love of animals. FMAR is well-know and well-respected in our community, and we continue to strive to provide services to the people and animals in our area.

Meet Virginia

Meet Virginia, a sweet, playful, and lovable one-year-old mix breed with a striking black-and-white coat! This charming girl came to us as a Sumpter Stray, so we don't know much about her past, but what we do know is that she's the happiest, most lighthearted dog around. Virginia absolutely loves playing fetch and tug-of-war with her favorite rope — she's got tons of energy and enthusiasm to share!   Though she might need a little extra help with manners, Virginia makes up for it with her irresistibly sweet nature and a heart full of love. She’s eager to make new friends, both human and canine, and loves going on walks, even if she's still perfecting her leash skills. Whether she’s playing, walking, or just lounging, Virginia’s joyful spirit is sure to brighten up any day.   If you're looking for a playful, affectionate companion who is ready to share lots of fun and snuggles, Virginia just might be the perfect match!   If you would like to meet Virginia, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care she has have received.   **Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.
