Friends of Michigan Animal's Rescue

FMAR is a no-kill animal shelter. Our property includes three buildings. Once we take in an animal, it has a home with us for it's lifetime if necessary. The animals at FMAR are mostly strays brought to us by the police or surrenders whose owners cannot care for them. FMAR has a small staff and a large number of volunteers that have a deep love of animals. FMAR is well-know and well-respected in our community, and we continue to strive to provide services to the people and animals in our area.

Meet Arnold

Hey there, Arnold here! If you're searching for a handsome, fun-loving guy who's always up for an adventure, I'm your dog! I'm currently hanging out in my kennel, patiently waiting for the chance to meet you and show you just how great I am. The volunteers here love taking me to events because I'm a rockstar in the car and well-behaved in public. I’m the life of the party during pack walks with my dog friends, and I have a blast at playgroups. But don’t worry, I’m just as excited to play with my humans, too—especially when it comes to tug-of-war! Just a heads-up though... I’ve got some serious tug strength, so you better be ready, because I might just pull you down in the process! I’m looking for an active, fun-loving family who can keep up with my energy. I’m eager to learn, so I’ll need a family that has the time and patience to continue my training and match my enthusiasm. While I still need to work on my leash manners, I promise I’ll be an amazing hiking or jogging buddy once I’ve got those down. A fenced-in yard is a must for me to run and play, and I’d be thrilled to have older kids who can appreciate my playful, sometimes clumsy nature. If you’ve got another dog, that could be awesome too! We just need to make sure we’re introduced properly. I’m crate-trained and have been noted to be accident-free in a home setting, so I’ve got the basics covered. I can’t wait to meet you and your family! Don’t miss the chance to bring this handsome, energetic guy into your life. Together, we’ll make memories that’ll last a lifetime! If you would like to meet Arnold, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care he has received. **Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Adoption Process
