If you're looking for a quiet best friend look no further than Minnie! This adorable 5 month old Mixed Breed is definitely a people's dog and is doing really well with all of the humans in her foster home, which includes young children (ages: 2, 5 and 7). Minnie loves the kids and really opens up around them. She does jump a little when she's excited and playing, but nothing her human foster siblings can't handle. We don't know much about Minnie's history, but she will do best with a patient and understanding family. She can startle easily with loud noises. Minnie can be a stubborn lil gal - if she doesn't want to walk somewhere, she will sit or lay down until she decides she's ready. This is likely due to the leash being new to her. But once she's ready to move, she walks pretty well on the leash and can often be found running around the yard with her human foster siblings. Right now she's still learning how to be a dog, so she hasn't show much interest in treats or toys yet, but she does a great job eating her meals. Minnie loves to be loved - she enjoys being brushed and will accept as many belly rubs as you are willing to give! It's hard to get photos of her because she rarely leaves her foster's side. If she's not right at her feet, she's under the chair or next to her. Minnie's foster mom reports that she's pretty quiet and sleeps very well in her crate overnight. She said "She seems like an old soul who will thrive in a calm environment and a family that is patient while she decompresses." So far, Minnie is not a fan of her 2 canine foster siblings, who are high energy. We think she will do best as the only dog in her new home or possibly paired with a calm, low energy. She had a pleasant meet and greet with her foster's barn cats. If you're interested in adopting Minnie, apply today! At 5 months old, she weighs 39 pounds. We do not know her breed mix or potential size when full grown. Her minimum adoption fee is $325 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
