Friends of Michigan Animal's Rescue

FMAR is a no-kill animal shelter. Our property includes three buildings. Once we take in an animal, it has a home with us for it's lifetime if necessary. The animals at FMAR are mostly strays brought to us by the police or surrenders whose owners cannot care for them. FMAR has a small staff and a large number of volunteers that have a deep love of animals. FMAR is well-know and well-respected in our community, and we continue to strive to provide services to the people and animals in our area.

Meet Henry

Henry came to us as a stray, and while we can’t be sure about his past, we know one thing for sure – he is an absolute sweetheart who will steal your heart in an instant! Despite facing some health challenges, including skin issues and some dental problems that required a few teeth to be pulled, Henry has made a full recovery and is now in great health, ready to start his new chapter with a loving family. He’s been through a lot, but his calm and gentle nature remains unchanged. Henry is a polite, easygoing boy. He greets people with a soft expression and a wagging tail – no jumping, just pure sweetness. He waits patiently for his food and treats, always the perfect gentleman. Henry is a “go with the flow” kind of guy who doesn’t fuss much and is happy to simply enjoy life. This charming boy loves exploring the outdoors, especially running around in the grass and sniffing out all the interesting smells. Tennis balls are another favorite pastime of his – he loves to chew on them and carry them around. We believe that in a loving, supportive home, Henry’s gentle personality will continue to shine. He’d be happiest in a home with older children, a nice yard to roam and play in, and a moderate activity level. A daily walk and some playtime will keep him content and healthy. If you’re looking for a low-key, affectionate companion who will give you unconditional love, Henry is your guy. He’s ready to settle down and be the loyal friend you’ve been waiting for! Are you ready to bring Henry home? Come meet this sweet boy and see just how wonderful life with him could be! If you would like to meet Henry, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care he has received. **Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs
