Sophia is a sweetheart who loves with her whole heart. Her calm will be a balm to her human after a long day at work. She loves to come up and snuggle to her favorite muggle. Netflix and reading books are the perfect occasion for her to start her couch invasion. In the yard she will sniff catching every whiff. Walking around the block she will rock. Playtime and running are too much work, perhaps that is her quirk. Around the stairs she may muddle, but she loves to cuddle. Sophia does well with calm dogs looking for a friend, but on that point she will bend She would be equally happy as your one and only, with you she will never be lonely She has not yet met a feline, so we cannot be sure if that is a home we should decline Older kids (late elementary or above) could be good if they give her the calmer respectful environment they should. Sophia is sweet and loving pup seeking a calm home filled with lots of love and lots of patience. She does have some eye cloudiness which can impair her sight (although she is not blind), so if she goes to a multi-level home the top and bottom of the stairs will need to have baby gates to keep her safe. If you would like to meet this girl who deserves a loving home for all reasons and seasons, apply to meet her at https://rescuecrew.org/adopt-animal-in- need/#adoptionapplication Completion of an Adoption Application via our website (www.RescueCrew.org) is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in the adoption process. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well.
Adoption Process
Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
