Wags and Whiskers Animal Rescue of MN

Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to saving lives and finding forever homes for stray, abandoned and surrendered dogs in high kill shelters. We are a small, volunteer run organization. All of our animals listed are in foster homes waiting to be adopted and because of this, we get to know the animals' personalities very well and use this information to match them to an appropriate home. We do not have a physical shelter. This rescue is not funded by public funds nor does it receive many donations so it is dependent on adoption fees to keep operating. We provide all needed supplies and cover medical costs of the foster while it awaits a forever home.

Meet Spock D5953

Hi! I'm Spock, a young pup born on 4/18/24 who is looking for my furever family...I'm hoping maybe that can be you???       I currently live with kids, cats and 2 dogs so I have had experience with all sorts. I kind of hit the jackpot because one of the dogs is still a younger pup that loves to play, so that keeps me busy during the day. The other dog however, is older and doesn't appreciate puppy behavior but my foster mom says I am really good at reading cues and I leave the old gal alone. I've heard that I have a perfect balance of puppy energy and calm behavior (I guess thats a good thing???)        I'm working on this whole house training thing...it's as if one day, it all makes sense of what going "outside" is about and then the next day, well, I forget (I do have accidents in the house). Same with the kennel training. Because of the other dogs I do get my meals in my kennel, and because I am so food motivated, I will run right into the kennel to eat. I will also casually walk in and lay down to nap for a bit, but I do not like being in there too long.       So guess I just need to be honest and admit that I am still a very, very puppy type of guy. I am probably one of the most affectionate, cuddly (and super fluffy) puppy types but I have alot to still learn and am hoping to find the family that will help me to be my best. Maybe that could be you?!?!       Thankyou for checking me out, let's meet soon!

Adoption Process
Our adoption process includes an adoption application. After reviewing your application and contacting the vet and personal references, a meeting is scheduled between the potential adopter and the pet, in the foster's home or a neutral animal friendly place. If there are any resident animals within the home, it is required that they meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit by one our representatives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. 6 month post-adoption check in is completed.
