Delores, affectionately known as Dori, is a 10-month-old Pitbull with a big personality packed into her petite frame! Weighing in at 30 pounds with a sleek black and white coat adorned with brindle markings, she is expected to grow into a medium-sized dog between 26-60 pounds. Dori is the perfect combination of playful energy and sweet affection—always eager to be at the center of attention and right alongside her people. Her expressive ears are her trademark, conveying every thought and emotion with an adorable tilt or perk!Dori is fully crate-trained and “puppy house trained,” meaning she thrives in a home where her owner is consistent about letting her outside on schedule. She is fantastic in her crate, settling in quietly with a bone and never making a fuss. A social butterfly, she adores meeting other dogs and plays with boundless enthusiasm. She’s proven she can read the room well and understands when other pups need some space. She’d thrive in an environment where she can have regular playtime with other dogs to keep up on her socialization. Her behavior with cats is uncertain, though she does show a strong prey drive—her fascination with the household rabbits suggests she might be quite persistent with a feline friend. Dori’s had the chance to meet young kids and is very friendly and curious about them! She’s gentle when playing and taking treats indicating that she’d likely to very well in a home with children given continued supervision and training.Dori is a true character, bringing joy and laughter with her goofy play style—she loves to toss her toys into the air with dramatic flair and put on a show! While she is generally quiet, she has a few strong opinions about things that go “whirrrr” like vacuums and noisy appliances, but she is bravely learning to make peace with them (especially when treats are involved). She has adapted effortlessly to her foster home, demonstrating her love for comfort by snoozing belly-up with her feet in the air within 24 hours of arrival. She’s proven to be a loyal companion, wanting to join in on all daily activities, including showers! No one’s ever met a dog that loves a bath as much as Dori does. With moderate puppy energy, she enjoys active play and walks but is likely to mellow as she matures. She’s very treat motivated and ready to learn all the tips and tricks you’re ready to teach her! At her core, Dori is an affectionate, playful, and deeply loyal companion who is ready to bring endless love, entertainment, and snuggles to her forever home. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
