Belle aka Smidgen is a whole lot of love in a tiny package. Have you ever wanted a dog that looks like a forever puppy? Smidge is your girl! Weighing in at under 16#, she's got the spirit of a wolf in the body of a cat. She's learning about dog life after living as a breeder in a crate for the first two years of her life. She's mastered the art of zoomies, tug-of-war (with a human or a dog friend) and exploring the outdoors. She loves to follow scents outside and gets extremely excited to follow her nose! She loves to play with toys, pouncing on balls and crinkle toys and absolutely lives for treats! After she's done playing, Smidgen loves to settle down for a snuggle with her human or dog friends. She's done wonderfully with kids (age 6 and 8) and the resident dog (8 yr beagle) in her foster home. She does well being kenneled on her own and with the resident dog. Due to her rough start, Smidgen is extremely fearful of men and will need a home with no men and a forever family committed to continuing to help her grow her confidence. Smidgen is working on potty training and will need a patient family who will continue to help her navigate life outside of the crate.
Adoption Process
Our adoption process includes an adoption application. After reviewing your application and contacting the vet and personal references, a meeting is scheduled between the potential adopter and the pet, in the foster's home or a neutral animal friendly place. If there are any resident animals within the home, it is required that they meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit by one our representatives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. 6 month post-adoption check in is completed.
