Meet Margie (aka Lucy)
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about The Rescue Crew adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our Adoption Process page on our official website. Meet Lucy – Your New Best Friend in the Making! Lucy is a smart, sweet, and energetic young dog looking for her forever family! With her golden eyes and endless curiosity, she’s sure to capture your heart. One of Lucy’s favorite things in the world is playing fetch—she’s an excellent retriever and will happily play for hours, even tossing the ball or toy back to you or onto a table for another round. This clever girl is still learning how to settle and relax, but with structure, short bursts of attention, and plenty of tasks to keep her engaged, she’s making great progress. Lucy is happiest with an active family who can provide her with exercise and mental stimulation throughout the day. Here’s what makes Lucy special: Playful and Skilled: Lucy’s fetch game is top-tier, and she’s motivated by tennis balls, food, and neck scritches. Loving and Affectionate: She’s a sweetheart who loves to connect with her humans. Trainable and Smart: Lucy knows a few basic commands and is eager to learn more with consistent guidance. Great with Older Kids: While she’s good with younger children, Lucy doesn’t always realize her size and energy, so families with very small children might not be the best fit.Lucy would do best with older kids or adults who can guide her with patience and consistency. She’s ready to shine with a family who understands her need for structure and has the skills to help her continue to grow into her best self.If you’re ready for a loving, goofy companion who’ll keep you on your toes (and steal your heart), Lucy is waiting for YOU! Contact us to learn more about adopting Lucy and giving her the home she deserves! All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.
Adoption Process
Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
