Meet Phelps
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please submit an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about The Rescue Crew adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our Adoption Process page on our official website. Meet Phelps, affectionately known as Kota, a resilient pup who has come a long way in his foster journey. When Kota first arrived, he was battling a tough case of mange and had severely inflamed skin. But with lots of soothing baths, some adorable pajamas, and an abundance of love, this determined boy's hair is growing back beautifully, and he's looking better every day!Kota is now a happy, healthy dog who's full of life and love. He's incredibly playful and affectionate, always ready to share his joy with those around him. Whether he's playing or snuggling, he's sure to bring a smile to your face. He's doing wonderfully in his kennel and making great progress with potty training. While he occasionally has an accident indoors, it's only when his foster isn't quick enough to notice he needs to go out.Kota is on the road to becoming the perfect companion, and he's ready to find his forever home where he can continue to thrive and share his boundless love. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.
Adoption Process
Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
