Meet Macie

Macie is a 9 year old mixed breed honey who came to us as an owner surrender. Born on November 8th, 2013, she was originally adopted from us at 16 weeks old in 2014. She was returned as the family life changed drastically. Macie was very loved in her previous home and we're hoping to get her into a new home quickly. She has been fully vetted and chipped and her fee is $125. We had a full vet exam done on her and everything was great! She will have a dental cleaning done on Feb. 17th. Macie is said to be a black lab/beagle mix. However her coat has a slight wave to it, reminding us of a flat coated retriever. She is older, yes, but she still has a lot of energy and spunk. She loves to play and romp. She's a swimmer, too! Macie would do well with kids 5 years and up and she does well with a respectful male dog. She did live with a cat at one time and didn't seem to mind too much. She's a fun dog and very loving. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications can be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.

Adoption Process
Starts with written Application form which includes questions regarding housing situation (rent/own etc. renters require landlord approval), History of previous or current pets, Vet information, Animal housing information (cats must be indoors, dogs fenced yard etc.). Fees for Cat Adoptions are $50 (or $75 for two) Dogs vary based on breed, size, etc. Average is $125.
