Hi I’m Teddy. I’m a friendly dog who enjoys long walks on the beach….well there aren’t many of those around right now, but it doesn’t matter, I just really like long walks anywhere. In fact, being outside is my favorite and I’ll sometimes just lay by the door waiting. I generally walk best with a harness on as I get pretty excited to be outside and explore. My second favorite thing is belly rubs. Sometimes if you come near me I’ll just flop over expecting a belly rub. My fur is soft as silk so you’ll probably have a hard time resisting anyway. I’m a pretty active guy who naps sometimes but I like to move around and see everything. I sleep pretty well in the crate at night and keep it clean. I love when my people are home (I’m good with kids that are respectful) and get pretty sad if they are gone or if I’m stuck behind a baby gate or in a crate. I’ll let you know I need attention with a whine or an occasional bark. I sometimes do a lot of shaking and flapping around, but it’s probably because I’m still settling in and also I’m maybe not used to all this hardware (collar and sometimes a harness). I am still working on my potty training and learning not to mark in the house. I would also benefit from some obedience training classes. Fill out an application so we can meet and I can show you what an awesome guy I am! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website (www.RescueCrew.org) is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in the adoption process. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well.
Adoption Process
Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
