Meet Cooper
Cooper is an 8-month-old Labrador Retriever who embodies everything we love about this breed: he's goofy, affectionate, and full of excitement! Despite spending much of his early life in a kennel and experiencing some hardship, Cooper has quickly adjusted to his foster home and is exploring the world around him.Weighing 69 pounds (and working on shedding some extra weight), he loves doing zoomies in the yard, being close to his people, and soaking up belly rubs. He is house-trained (with only one accident), and is perfectly crate-trained, finding comfort and security in his crate. With all other things, he’s proving to be a quick learner, overcoming his initial nervousness about new situations with patience and encouragement.Cooper gets along well with other dogs, and tends to focus more on his human or new smells during walks. He has been cat-tested and, while initially cautious, shows no prey drive and respects boundaries. Although he hasn’t had much exposure to children in his foster home, he came from a household with kids and did well with them. His playful energy might make him a bit overwhelming for smaller children, but otherwise, he is a wonderful companion.Cooper is a great mix of playful energy and relaxed companionship, making him the perfect dog for a family that values both outdoor fun and cozy indoor snuggles. He likes running around the yard, but also loves curling up next to you while chewing on a toy (like his rubber chicken). He really just loves being a part of a family and hanging out with other dogs, which has helped with his confidence. He doesn’t require a fenced yard, though he would enjoy having one to explore. This loving, playful, and resilient pup is looking for a family who will embrace his goofy charm!
