Hi everyone Lady Diana here with a pup-date. Can you believe I have been in foster care here in MN for a whole year? I really love all the help I have gotten from PJs Rescue who have helped me go from being a really scared dog full of fear to a more confident happy girl. When in my comfort zone I am the absolute sweetest lovey dog. I like to put my paws on the couch and lean into whomever is sitting on it for some love, I am starting to find I can crawl up and lay next to my human too (it is great). I am fully house trained and have not had a single accident even when home alone for 10-12 hours. At night I sleep on my dog bed and don’t venture out to get into any mischief. I am a playful girl but wouldn’t consider myself to be high energy. I live with a couple of other dogs we love to play in short spurts. I am happy to lay around and chew on a bone or a toy or just look out the window and daydream. I love destuffing the stuffies, but I don’t destuff things I know I shouldn’t like the pillows. I also really like going for walks, I used to be afraid of everything we passed cars, trucks, people. I am still working on some of my fears, and I need an owner that will help me become more confident and keep me safe. Things I am still afraid of – bicycles, motorcycles, semitrucks, the city bus and other loud trucks like the UPS trucks. I am still improving today for instance there was a tow truck and a UPS truck that I would have normally barked at when they drove by, but I didn’t!!! My foster mom tells me to leave it and praises me when I don’t react, it is still a work in progress. I do love my walks and there has been a lot of improvement already so it can only get better with consistent training. I would love to have a fenced yard as it is my safe space and I love to explore. I have been referred to as a “tank of a gal”, indeed I am a very solid dog and I love food! (easy to train). Anytime my foster mom says its time to eat I do a little jump for joy; it is pretty cute. I listen good especially if there is a reward like a cookie involved. I would probably do best in a home without kids, only because if they have friends coming and going new people kind of scare me until I am comfortable with them. I like kids and have been around a few without any problems. If there are visitors at the house that make me feel anxious, I go into my kennel and relax (staying quiet). I just need an owner that knows when that is the best for me. The more I am exposed to the things that used to scare me the more comfortable I am. Thanks for reading if you think we would be a good match please apply with PJs rescue can’t wait to meet my forever family. Update on Lady Diana 8/2023 Lady Diana has finished her training with our partners at Moose Lake Correctional Facility. She attended her first event Wednesday evening at The Caddy Shack and did amazing. She did not bark at one stranger she met and we think that is a huge step for her. (ex. reading her below bio.) She received a lot of socialization while she was in training. We still feel she will need a strong owner as she is still excitable when she wants to go sniff someplace you don’t want to go to and will pull. She is still as sweet as ever! She loves to sleep in the bed with you and doesn't move a muscle . An additional training session is a requirement for adoption as she completed training at R&R Professional Dog Training. Lady Diana joined us in December of 2022 from Laredo, TX through our partner, Paws on Board Rescue Support Grou p. This sweet girl had been abandoned outside of the shelter with her sole remaining puppy- Kate. She is expected to be about three years old and due to her lack of proper socialization early on, she has an initial fear of strangers. Occasionally she will bark when meeting people but seems to adjust quickly to new surroundings in itself when given time and patience. Lady Diana would do best with a confident and already well adjusted dog and owner who will not be alarmed by her barking. She does well with young children and walks very respectfully on a leash! Adoption fee: $300.00 includes her spay, up to date on vaccines , microchip and training session from R&R Professional Dog Training on what she learned at our partner MLCF)
