Meet Split Foster Needed!
Foster Plea for Split – The Sweetest & Most Handsome Gentle Giant! Meet Split, a 1-2-year-old Great Dane who is as stunning as he is sweet! This handsome boy was surrendered by a breeder and is now looking for a loving foster home where he can learn what it truly means to be part of a family. With his striking features, soulful eyes, and sleek coat, he turns heads wherever he goes—but it's his gentle, affectionate nature that will truly steal your heart. Split is a big marshmallow, easygoing and kind, and he gets along famously with other dogs. He would thrive in a home with a confident canine companion to help guide him, as he is a follower, not a leader. While he has had little training, he is eager to learn, super food-motivated, and willing to please, making obedience and manners work a fun and rewarding experience. His temporary foster in Texas said he was "the bestest boy" and misses him so much, which speaks volumes about how wonderful he is! We are unsure how he is with children, as he likely has not been around them, so a home without young kids or one that is willing to introduce him slowly would be ideal. Fostering comes with great perks—you get first chance to adopt if you fall in love (which you will!), and we provide food, vet care, and all necessary supplies. If you're looking for a big, mushy, ridiculously handsome love bug, Split is your guy! Reach out today to give this stunning sweetheart the home he deserves! ❤️ Meet Split – A Stunning Giant with Zero Concept of Personal Space! Split is a breathtaking Blue Merle and White Great Dane, around 1 year old and weighing in at 100 pounds. He came from a Louisiana breeder alongside his buddy, Bean, and is currently in a Texas rescue awaiting his ride to Minnesota. This big boy is in need of a foster or forever home—someone who understands giant breeds and is ready to help him become the best version of himself! Like Bean, Split has had no formal training and will need an adopter willing to work on his manners. He’s still learning the ropes when it comes to leash walking and basic obedience, and he has a habit of helping himself to food left within reach. He also has absolutely no concept of personal space—if you sit down, expect him in your lap, leaning against you, or sprawled at your feet like he weighs nothing. And if you take him for a walk? His head will be right in your face, making sure you know he’s there every step of the way! Despite his lack of training, Split is a social, fun-loving dog who enjoys playing with other pups and staying active. He’ll thrive in a home with structure, patience, and plenty of love. Split is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered—ready to start his new life! If you have Great Dane experience and are willing to invest time in training, Split will be a loyal and loving (and very clingy!) companion. Are you the special person who can give this goofy, affectionate giant the forever home he deserves?
Adoption Process
Applicants must submit an adoption application, followed by background and reference checks, and finally a home visit to be completed by a qualified volunteer. A home visit report is submitted to the Board of Directors for review. If approved, the applicant is allowed to meet available dogs in our care. If the applicant decides to adopt, a detailed contract must be executed together with an adoption donation ranging from $250 to $500.
