Meet Jack Jack

Hi!  My name is Jack Jack and I am looking for my forever family.  I am a pint-sized guy with a gallon sized personality.  My foster family thinks I am part Tasmanian Devil based on my energy level, part Bald Eagle due to my great eyesight that can spot squirrels, rabbits and any other critters from a block away and part Cuddle Bug because of my ability to find a way to curl up next to you no matter where you are sitting. They may think that but I know I am 100% happy dog! I LOVE LOVE LOVE toys – especially squeaky ones but I destroy anything that isn’t designed for a strong chewer. I don’t mess with things other than dog toys, but I really go crazy for toys. I am very food driven and I have been known to try to help myself to things that are not mine to eat so temptation should be kept to a minimum for a happy house.  On the positive side, I can be redirected very easily with the promise of a treat no matter what I am doing. I haven't had any accidents in the house since I got here. I like to spend some time outside in the yard with my family and the resident dog but will dig holes if given the chance. I get to go for 3-4 walks every day to practice my leash manners and listening skills.  I am getting better and better but I do best with a Walkie leash to reduce my pulling. I also REALLY like playing with the dog that lives here - he is good at keeping me occupied, playing and keeping me company in the yard, and learning basic manners – he sits for treats, walks nicely on a leash and I am good at following his lead.  A house with a dog would help to keep me busy and tire me out as I still have some puppy type energy even though I am 4 years old.  When he is not willing to play, I can amuse myself with a toy - tennis balls are the BEST! I do feel the need to bark at any potential threats – like car doors slamming at the house next door, delivery trucks pulling up to a neighbor’s house, etc. so shared walls may not be best at least to begin with until I get comfortable. I go in my crate when I am given the command, and settle quickly but I don’t sleep in it overnight anymore. The best place to sleep is close to the humans - in the same room for sure but next to them in bed is really where I want to be.  I will snuggle up and snore quietly every chance I get. I would love to meet you and find my new home! Jack Jack is from a local shelter. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
