Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Odie

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** Meet Odie! Odie who was originally “Sloan” from our Greys Anatomy litter. Odie is about 7 months old now. He was returned due to no fault of his own. Odie is incredibly smart and very eager to please with high value treats! Odie will require an active home and would be suitable with older children as he is still very young and learning not to jump. Odie is an energetic boy and loves loves loves his toys! He tends to be a bit headstrong so another friendly confident resident dog might do him some good!  This boy is working hard on basic obedience training in one of our fabulous foster homes. Odie will require a dog savvy and knowledgeable family that will be able to continue to work on his training to teach Odie how to he the good boy we all know he can be! Odie is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, micro, chipped, and dewormed. With an approved application Odie’s adoption fee is $300.00
