Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Remi

The biggest of the bunch, Remi is a striking brown and black boy with a gentle giant personality. He’s always ready for a cuddle and loves to be the center of attention. He is high energy and would like an active home. Remi likes to play with other confident dogs. Remi is working on obedience training including learning about letting his guard down around his food. Remi tends to worry other dogs might take his food. He has made progress and will soon be to good boy status! Remi is what we like to call a “Velcro dog” meaning he wants to sit on your lap and never be too far away from his humans. He is very affectionate and enjoys romping and playing in the yard and going on walks by the lake. If you think Remi could be your new adventure buddy, head to our website and submit an application!    All puppies are up to date on vaccines, dewormed, and microchipped. They will be adopted under a spay/neuter contract. With an approved application puppies adoption fees are $300.00

Adoption Process
application, adoption fees for dogs/puppies start at $150-$300. Cats/kittens are free will offering adoptions. Contracts for adoptions must be signed. All animals (unless too young) are altered prior to adoption. If not altered a deposit is paid and given back plus a rebate after the alteration has been performed.
