Highland has been soaking up love and learning since birth in her Texas foster home, and it shows. She’s smart, eager to please, and already picking up on training at just three months old. The Great Pyrenees in her is easy to see—goofy, gentle, independent yet deeply attached to her people. She’s got the softest fur around her neck and expressive eyes that make it clear she’s full of love. She adores other dogs, following them around and always trying to keep up, though she’s still learning when playtime is over. She’d do well with another playful dog or an active family—especially one with kids to chase. She loves the outdoors, running, jumping, and taking in the world around her. Highland is still working on potty training, which is to be expected at 3 months. She also can sometimes be a chatty girl —she "talks" in soft sounds and barks when really excited. She protests the kennel at first but is learning to settle more quickly each time. She will be a large dog and needs a home ready for a big, loving, and adventurous companion. Whether she’s placing a paw on your arm just to be close or pouncing into playtime with fearless enthusiasm, Highland is ready to be a loyal, loving part of the family. Highland is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 03/08/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 4:30 and 8pm. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
