Meet Diego

Hi, my name is Diego! In my foster home, I also go by "Good Boy", "Big Dog", and "Little Goblin" - that last one is because of my ears, not because I have any goblin tendencies! My foster mom says I'm a handsome sweetheart and that I deserve a happily ever after, so she made me a profile in hopes of finding my perfect match:   Putting my best paw forward - these are things I like or excel at: People! (Friendly with adults and dog-savvy kids) Toys! (The squeakier the better) My collection of toys! (Gentle with toys and will sometimes treat them as a pacifier) The great outdoors! (Being outside, exploring the fenced-in yard, and just listening to the birds) Treats! (Preferred training reward and takes treats very gently) Sit! Down! Off! Come! (Knows these commands well) Singing the songs of my people! (Can be vocal) Housetrained! Crate trained! (Will go in crate but not a fan; great on own outside of crate) Energy-burning activities! (High energy) Modeling!  I'm always trying to be a good boy - here's what I'm working on: Leash training Making dog friends (Slowly meeting foster brother) Something else you should know about me: I'm on medication for seizures, but my foster mom hasn't seen any evidence of seizures since I've been in rescue.    Think you might be my forever after? Fill out an application so we can arrange our first date!   Diego is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate   to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
