Meet Cora and Bitsy

We are an all-volunteer/foster home-based rescue. Apply to adopt by filling out the online adoption application on our main website dakotadachshundrescue.org Click on Adoption Info under the Navigation bar on the left side of the page. Fill out the form by clicking on the picture of the computer screen with our logo on it. Cora and Bitsy are both the sweetest and well behaved dogs. They are finally coming around to scheduled feedings. They love running around in the back yard, especially Cora. Bitsy is not well trained with the pad or outside, quite a few accidents. Working on frequent outside breaks and putting her in the bedroom with the pad after eating and drinking They bark when we come home or anyone comes over, otherwise not much. Cora is very fond of the guys in their foster home, women are fine but the men are the favorites. They definitely need to stay together, they are great with the other dogs in their foster home, adapted quickly, love to snuggle and follow around. Love to be under foot while anyone is cooking :) Can you be Cora and Bitsy's furever home? They are 8 yrs young they just celebrated their birthday, their adoption fee together is $522.50   My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, spay, dental if needed and microchipping.

Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
