Meet Riggs

We are an all-volunteer/foster home-based rescue. Apply to adopt by filling out the online adoption application on our main website dakotadachshundrescue.org Click on Adoption Info under the Navigation bar on the left side of the page. Fill out the form by clicking on the picture of the computer screen with our logo on it.   This is Riggs :) He is a sweet boy, he just recently arrived in DDR. He is just starting his journey to become a house pet.He loves people, loves playing with all the dogs in his foster home.He runs, chases and plays, a fenced yard is a must for him as he does not walk on a harness and leash yet.He does not have any recall, he can be a bit shy. Can you be Gideon's furever home? Riggs is almost 11 months old, he weighs about 12 pounds, his adoption fee is $600 plus sales tax $27=$627   My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental if needed and microchipping.

Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
