Foster Home Feedback 2/15/25 Foster Feedback: Pizza has been with me for just under two weeks, and he’s the best boy! He’s an absolute cuddle monster and would happily lay on you or play on top of you all day if he could. And I mean on top of—if there’s even the smallest space, he’ll find a way to be touching you. Pizza still has plenty of puppy energy (cue the zoomies!) but crashes for a nice long nap afterward. He gets along great with my 9-year-old resident dog and respects her when she corrects him for getting too rambunctious. At first, Pizza felt the need to mark a bit during the first day or two, but that has since stopped. He does really well with potty breaks when I let him out, though he’s had a few accidents when I wasn’t paying close attention. We’re working on potty bell training so Pizza can let me know when he needs to go outside. It doesn’t seem like he’s had any prior training, so we’re focusing on manners—learning basic commands, no jumping, and appropriate play. Pizza tends to pull on a short leash but walks beautifully with an extra-long one. He’s crate-trained and does amazingly well at night—he didn’t make a sound his first night home! During the day, Pizza might whine for a few minutes if he sees me leaving or feels like he’s missing out, especially if I’m with my resident dog. Pizza isn’t food-guarding with treats and takes them so gently. Once, he got a little protective over his food when my resident dog went to check on him while he was still eating, so to prevent any issues, I feed them separately. Overall, he’s a sweet, loving pup who’s eager to learn and be close to his people! 1/26/2025 Building Volunteer Feedback: Pizza is an excitable pup in the beginning but quickly calms down when he knows you aren't going anywhere. He loves to be close to you and chew on his bones. Pizza knows how to sit and will work for those treats. If you are looking for a dog that doesn't know boundaries and will be a large lap dog, you have found him.
