Meet Penelope

Penelope is a 16-week-old Belgian Malinois/Pitbull mix who is sweet and snuggly! Currently weighing 18 pounds, this affectionate pup has a lively personality and thrives on attention, making her an excellent match for a loving, hands-on home.This bouncy little girl enjoys playtime with puppy-sized tennis balls and plenty of snuggles in between. Her favorite moments include breakfast time when she gets so excited she bounces around, and she sometimes can't keep her feet on the floor! She's also excellent at letting you know what she wants—she loves putting her paws up on your legs to ask for kisses and head scratches. While Penelope is still working on house training, she’s catching on quickly to basic commands like a pro! She has adjusted well to her foster home because she is treat motivated and eager to learn. She hasn't started crate training yet in her foster home, but with her intelligence and love of positive reinforcement, she’s sure to adapt well to new routines. Penelope does experience some separation anxiety, so she’d love a home where her people can be around often otherwise she may be noisy. Because of this, she will need a home without shared walls (no apartments/townhomes).Penelope does great with other dogs in her foster home, but she hasn’t met cats or children yet, so it’s unclear how she would interact with them. Regular socialization with other dogs will help her continue to build confidence and maintain her playful, balanced nature. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.
