Meet Teddy Philip

Teddy Philip came to us on August 13th when he completed his legal stray hold at the city pound and no owner had claimed him. We did find out after his arrival that his real name is Ted, so we've resorted to calling him Teddy Philip. He's 8 years old and he rules his room at the shelter. This small but mighty dude has been fully vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. His fee is $150. Teddy Philip likes a good routine. He makes his wishes known very clearly. This includes how he likes to be touched and handled. He does have a little stiffness in his hind legs, perhaps from an old injury and can sometimes be sassy if touched the wrong way. He does like to "talk back" and we've had many colorful conversations with him. Honestly, he can be a real brat sometimes but then he turns it around and is sweet and loving. He seems okay with other dogs as long as they're respectful and we think he'd tolerate cats. Kids are a no for him. NOTE:  Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.

Adoption Process
Starts with written Application form which includes questions regarding housing situation (rent/own etc. renters require landlord approval), History of previous or current pets, Vet information, Animal housing information (cats must be indoors, dogs fenced yard etc.). Fees for Cat Adoptions are $50 (or $75 for two) Dogs vary based on breed, size, etc. Average is $125.
