HELLLLLLLO FRIENDS! I am Betsy. My foster mama calls me Baby Betsy, because I’m the cutest little thing! I have so much to tell you, but I would like to start with a few kisses to your face as soon as we meet! THEN we can chat! Let’s start with a joke: a blonde and a black/tan scruffy brunette walk into rescue…who’s their mom? A petite black lab mix! . Now THATS a funny joke isn’t it? But it’s true! My sister Cynthia came to rescue too! And we have no idea who our daddy is. Perhaps a scruffy traveling salesman. We will take this one on a talk show later for some DNA testing… We are likely a mix of MANY different breeds that made us this cute little concoction of adorable! I’m currently only 5 months old annd about 15lb but very thin. My adult size will be around 25lb. We were rescued from the streets of the Pine Ridge Reservation in Nebraska where we were surviving the brutal winter living outside on our own. It’s a really tough place to survive, and we’re soooo thrilled to be inside loving and warm foster homes now! Speaking of foster homes, this place is FUN! There are 4 young kids and 3 other dogs to play with! I’m not a hyper puppy, but I do love lots of attention and friends so this is great! You know that blondes have more fun, right? And get this. I already know how to sit!! I’m not only adorable, and fun, but I’m super smart too! I sleep quietly in my kennel with cozy blankets at night and I’m doing well with my potty outside routine. I gobble up my food and my foster mama has been giving me two bowls because I’m so skinny. Seconds with every meal! Woohoo!! I have a uniquely fluffy coat that will require some brushing, but likely not much grooming. It’s a warm winter coat that helped me survive being born outside in the winter. Some people pay lots of $ for a warm winter coat but mine is include in the package deal!! So. Whatcha think? Are you needing some adorable to spice up your life? I’m definitely one of those arm candy kind of girls. EVERYONE is going to ask where we met!! If you might like a petite blonde forever girl, pick me! I would be perfect for most any kind of home as long as you have love to share Completion of an Adoption Application via our website (www.RescueCrew.org) is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in the adoption process. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well.
Adoption Process
Adoption applications must be completed, which include information regarding references and vet clinic information, DL #, names, etc. Reference checks are conducted and when necessary vetting information verified. Discussion about the animal interested in to best assure appropriate and proper placement is made, and educational information regarding how to manage a multi-dog/animal household, slow and proper introductions and the importance of a shut-down period to help the animal acclimate to new surroundings. A "meet and greet" with the animal is required and whenever possible all residents of the household should be present. Home checks may, but not always, be necessary. After adoption applications is approved a contract is required, where we also stipulate that if for any reason the adopter determines they no longer want or can care for the animal we require it be returned to us, with the exception of documented bite history or potentially dangerous or dangerous dog designations. Adoption fees vary, but are comparable to or less than other local rescues and typically are $300 or less for a canine and $150 for a feline.
