Meet Maybelline *Arriving 9/21*

Mabelline is a sweet puppy who is already showing signs of becoming a calm and low-energy dog. She’s likely to grow into the perfect lap dog, as she loves to snuggle and enjoys quiet time on the couch. As a stray, she’s still adjusting to home life, but her Texas foster can already tell she’s incredibly intelligent. The way she looks at you when you talk to her is truly unique—it's like she’s hanging on every word. Mabelline’s routine includes a morning potty trip followed by a meal and a short walk or a game of fetch. She isn’t housebroken yet, so she goes outside every two hours, but she’s making great progress. She’s crate-trained, sleeping peacefully through the night after just a few minutes of fussing. During the day, she enjoys resting in her bed near her foster mom's office chair, and she loves to be held and even gives little "hugs" with her front paws.  Though she was initially shy and timid, Mabelline has blossomed into a loving, curious companion. She’s rarely vocal, only barking when she’s excited or overstimulated. She’s had some exposure to cats but tends to chase them, so a cat-free home might be best for her. She’s very responsive to commands, including “sit” and “no,” and would thrive with someone who is home more often to give her the love and attention she craves. Mabelline is a loving, smart puppy who will be a great fit for anyone looking for a cuddly companion that enjoys quiet time and a few short walks a day. Maybelline is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 9/21/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame.  Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. *Rescue puppies are notorious for losing their birth certificates before entering our rescue. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
