Meet Calliope D5769

My name is Calliope and I am a 10 year old Yorkie.  I was found as a stray and was never claimed so now I’m in a rescue foster home with a cat and two other dogs. My estimated birth date is  1/12/2013.  Right now I weigh in at 5lbs but I could stand to gain a little bit as I’m a tad underweight.  My favorite thing to do in the world is to cuddle and be held.  I am 100% a lap dog. I am sweet, loving, and can be playful.  I get along with everyone, including cats and dogs.  I am fine with baths, nail trims, and hair cuts. I rarely bark and am mostly a very quiet girl, unless I’m whining to be picked up.  As is common with older, small dogs, my teeth will need regular, probably annual, cleanings.  I’ll have a teeth cleaning before I leave rescue.  I also have a mammary mass that will be removed before I leave rescue.  Lastly, I tested positive for a tick borne disease called erlichia.  I have no symptoms or ill effects from it.  I would love a home where someone is home a lot and where I can sit on your lap and snuggle a lot. I’ll also prefer to sleep in bed with you too.  I don’t like being kenneled (I will bark and cry) and I am fully potty trained. I love being outside and going on walks. If you’d love a small, cuddle buddy, I hope you’ll bring me home with you.    

Adoption Process
Our adoption process includes an adoption application. After reviewing your application and contacting the vet and personal references, a meeting is scheduled between the potential adopter and the pet, in the foster's home or a neutral animal friendly place. If there are any resident animals within the home, it is required that they meet at this time. After the meeting, a home visit by one our representatives is REQUIRED prior to finalizing any adoption and we must meet all members of the household where the pet will be living sometime during the adoption process. 6 month post-adoption check in is completed.
