Hey y’all, my name is Tilly! I am a sweet as pie 10 year old southern Cocker Spaniel. I don’t have a mean bone in my body and I just LOVE being around people. The more pats and belly rubs I can get the better! I will reward you, of course, by wagging my cute little nub of a tail! Everyone tells me I’m quite beautiful too. So I must tell you, I am blind and I have little to no hearing left. But please don’t let that sway you. I have been blind for a bit and I have become a PRO. I now see through my nose and my foster mom sometimes forgets I’m even blind! I am such a confident lady. I take a day or so to map out the house and then I’m good to go! I will remember where my bowls are, where my bed is, and where the door to go potty is! And don’t you worry, if I loose track of you, I will smell you out! Not a problem at all! To get me to follow you, just a gentle tap and I will follow right along with you. I will need a fenced yard. I really like to smell all the smells outside but obviously might wander off a little too far accidentally if I’m not fenced in. Also, I would prefer a home without stairs or a pool for obvious reasons. I am completely housebroke and have not had one accident since I’ve been with my foster mom- I am a complete lady. I walk on a leash or will walk right beside your leg to follow you along. I just love naps and have no problem relaxing on my bed or hanging out while you watch TV (please tell me what you’re watching though! And bonus points if you can rub my belly while you watch TV!) I may be a little older but that only means I have GREAT manners! However, I don’t think I act a day over 5! I am crate trained, I don’t bark, I sleep through the night (and sometimes into the morning), I don’t chew or scratch!! Really, the only thing that sometimes makes a mess is when I drink water and my ears dip in the bowl. I leave a little trail of drips when I walk away. My foster mom just says I’m sprinkling and finds it adorable. I hope you do too! I am good with all other dogs but probably would do best with lower energy or smaller dogs that won’t run me over or mind if I occasionally bump into them. I have not been around cats or kids while with my foster mom but I think I would be good with anything! I am heartworm positive, but will be treated locally then good to go! Please consider me, I would love a forever home with all the kisses and hugs I can get! Notes from foster- Tilly is the sweetest soul. I know a blind/deaf dog seems like it would be a challenge, but she has been one of the best dogs I’ve had. Sometimes she’s staring at me for pets and I swear she’s not even blind. She manages SO well once she maps the house and yard. She even runs when excited and knows exactly when to stop or turn. I have not hit one “challenge” due to her disabilities. She doesn’t miss a beat. Who ever gets to adopt her has truly won the doggie jackpot. Apply at www.tireddogrescue.org Gulfport, MS More about Tilly Good with Dogs
