BRONX transferred to MOGS off of death row in a shelter in KS, after being adopted and then returned. Adopters introduced Bronx to another dog, ignored the warning signs that he was uncomfortable, a scuffle ensued, and one of the handlers got bit while trying to separate the dogs. TEMPERAMENT/BEHAVIOR: If you’re looking for a sweet, lovable cuddle buddy who just wants to be by your side - Bronx is your dude. Bronx adores his people and loves meeting new human friends. He wants to say hi to everyone on walks, is always welcoming to those who have visited our home and is very gentle to new folks of all ages. It’s not uncommon for someone to call him “the friendliest dog” after meeting him for the first time. Bronx is not a huge fan of being separated from his person - but does well in a kennel if you are working outside or leaving home. While Bronx is an old soul at his core, he also has a very goofy, playful side that comes out when he’s comfortable. He loves playing with frisbees and going for walks or car rides but he is equally as content with a lazy day at home.Bronx takes some time to warm up to new dogs but once they have built trust, they will be the best of friends. It took ~4 weeks initially of crating & rotating with with his foster sibling, and now they love playing tag and tug of war, and have even been spotted snuggling on occasion. If you adopt Bronx, you’ll not only get a very enthusiastic high-five giver but also a loyal companion for life. If you're looking for a handsome, friendly guy who loves life, BRONX is the one for you! BRONX's ADOPTION FEE: $350 This fee covers only part of what we spend to vet, board and rehab the dogs we save. On average we spend over $450 on each dog. We made a decision to keep our adoption fee at the 2005 level even though vet prices have doubled and tripled since then. We are constantly fundraising to cover the deficit. At minimum, your adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming, monthly heartworm and flea preventives, and microchip. In many cases it also includes surgery and various types of vet treatment for standard issues such as hot spots, ear infections and so on.INTERESTED IN ADOPTING BRONX?Complete an Adoption Application Now!

Homes will be required to provide 3 references plus a Vet reference and have a home visit completed. The dogs are all completely vetted before being placed in their new homes.
